The Misfits Set of 2 Candleholders in Gloss Black captures the essence of Completedworks' Fold collection, transforming rigid ceramic into sculptural forms that mimic soft, flowing fabric. Inspired by Renaissance art and everyday objects, these handcrafted pieces explore themes of memory and consumerism through their unique folds and creases. Designed with both artistry and function in mind, the candleholders reflect the collection’s investigation into texture, form, and the unnoticed aspects of daily life, while adding an elegant touch to any space.
Process:
This collection was influenced by Goya, da Vinci, and Perec’s works, as well as the background experiences of listening to Philip Glass’s Einstein on the Beach and visiting Antony Gormley’s exhibitions. The pieces were meticulously shaped using presses and imperfections to create folds and creases, making each piece unique and dynamic.
